The myDogBack/myCatBack-Service offers the great possibility of the direct and anonymous contact between Finder and owners of dogs or cats - world-wide over the InterNet. A Finder enters the individual and singular key which is printed on every myDogBack/myCatBack product into our system. The owner of the animal then will be informed immediately and anonymous by email about the find. The owner receives the message of the finder and can step in contact with him/her directly.
2. What is a myDogBack/myCatBack-key?
An individual and singular key is applied on every myDogBack/myCatBack-product. This consists of numbers and letters and serves for the identification of the animal. By using the key all of your data can remain completely anonymous. Nobody knows your address! He or she only knows the data printed on the myDogBack/myCatBack-Tag but nevertheless he or she can step into contact with you within seconds.
3. How long is a myDogBack/myCatBack-key valid?
With purchase of a myDogBack/myCatBack-product you acquire the right to use the key for fifteen years.Our service is valid for 15 years. That's quite a dogs/cats-life, isn't it? If you need an extended service-time, please feel free to buy a new tag.
4. What happens with my data?
Our philosophy is to offer anonymity. In order to register a myDogBack/myCatBack-key, you only need the individual key on your myDogBack/myCatBack-product and a valid email address. Nothing more is necessary.
5. How are my data protected?
Any email traffic between Finder and owners runs directly and not over myDogBack/myCatBack. We respect your data and DO NOT store any information except the key and a valid email address indicated by you.
There is also no data base connection between our Shop and the registration data base. We run two perfectly from each other separated systems.
6. For whom is myDogBack/myCatBack meant? Who can use it?
Our products and our services are for all dog-owners or cat-owners. myDogBack/myCatBack can help you to get your animal back fast, since a direct contact between both parties is manufactured. Nevertheless the service remains anonymous, the address of the owner is protected.
7. Where do I find the myDogBack/myCatBack-key?
Our individual and singular key is printed (by a high capacity laser) on the product (e.g. dog mark) and exists of numbers and letters.
8. What are the costs of the myDogBack/myCatBack-Service?
There are no hidden fees. You will not pay for a found animal or for the regaining of your animal. The Fee for the service is paied off with the payment of the product (for 3 years).
9. I have found a dog (or a cat) with a tag of myDogBack/myCatBack. What do I have to do?
Select the link for dog/cat found on our website and enter the key you have found on our tag, as well as a short message for the Owner, e.g. how he can step into contact with you.
10. My dog (or my cat) ran away from me. What can I do?
If your animal has a myDogBack/myCatBack-product (e.g. a dog-tag), either Finder, veterinary surgeon, a shelter or another appropriate person or institute will read the instruction on the product.
Whereupon this person can enter the key on the Website www.myDogBack.com and inform you, that your animal is found. In the same moment the finder enters the information, you'll receive an appropriate message and can step into contact with the Finder. Thus you should regularly check your email-account for messages of myDogBack/myCatBack.
11. Is there a reward for the return of an animal?
myDogBack/myCatBack is not involved into the procedure of the delivery of the found animal. Whether the owner would like to plumb an appropriate reward, lies in his discretion. myDogBack/myCatBack is only a platform, which brings both parties together.
12. Wouldn't it be simpler to engrave the name and the telephone number on a tag?
Of course you do not want everybody to know your name, address and telephone number. Above all not if the "guard-dog" is away from the house and the found animal signals to the Finder "that the house does not become guarded" at present. And a name alone is not sufficient, in order to contact you.
13. How differ myDogBack/myCatBack from other possibilities of receiving ones animal back?
myDogBack/myCatBack is the simple and anonymous variant is to get ones animal back.
No painful implant under the skin is required. No tattoos are necessary. Beyond that a tattoo gets unreadable within the years and a chip under the skin affords devices, which a private human being does not have.
Other Services provide the dog with a USB stick and a software contained on it. We do not want that, because first of all that offers ideal possibilities for spreading viruses and secondly contradicts that the principle of anonymity, since all data are stored on the USB stick.
After entering the unique KEY the finder will see an image of the lost animal for optimal identification (Note: The owner needs to upload the image before).
The InterNet in the meantime is in over 70% of the German households (and in other countries in even more households). Beyond that has almost anyone access to the InterNet (e.g. Internet-Cafes etc.). Therefore we think that this method is the most suitable.

14. How do I know that my myDogBack/myCatBack key is active?
If you successfully registered your myDogBack/myCatBack-key, you will receive an activation confirmation by email. Immediately your key is active.
15. How can I examine whether the service works correctly or not?
Use your own myDogBack/myCatBackkey for testing purposes on our website in the area "report dog/cat found". Leave yourselve a test message, which you will receive within minutes by email.
16. How do I receive a password for the service from myDogBack/myCatBack?
With the registration you can give any password you wish. myDogBack/myCatBack does not assign you a password.
17. What do I make, if I forgot my password?
If you forgot your password, you should go to the "My Account"-Area and follow the advices.
18. Which information do I put into the "My Account"-Area?
You can deposit information into the "My Account"-area of myDogBack/myCatBack, which give additional information to the Finder about your animal (e.g. diseases, allergies etc. of your dog/cat).
Beyond that you can already deposit information for a possible reward.
19. What is, if the key is not activated or did run off?
As soon as you ran off myDogBack/myCatBack-key or however one did not activate correctly, you do not receive notification from a Finder. For reasons of anonymity it is impossible for us to pass keys or email address on to third.
Therefore it is necessary that you keep your profile updated and store a copy of your key, user name and password at a safe place.
20. Do I have to enter my data again with each animal I'd like to register?
No. We think that you don't want to change every single registered key when moving to another city. With your Email-Address and your password you can register as many keys as you have purchased.
21. What do I have to do, if my address or other data changes?
In this case you should update your data in the account area of myDogBack/myCatBack. There you can update your address or Email. If your email address should change, you should update your data in time.
22. What, if my questions are more complex and cannot be answered within here precisely? What do I have to do then?
